Sweet Inkspirations

Hi there,

I've cheated again and combined two challenges. The Inkspiration Colour Challenge #19, hosted this week by Chantelle & Karen G's Sweet Sunday Sketch #60.

First the Inkspiration colours:

Then Karen's sketch:

And finally, my creation:

I found these colours a bit challenging but fortunately I had my lovely goodie box (see this post) and the Sweet Pea DSP has Taken With Teal papers (and Choc Chip, but, sadly, none with both colours on the one page). I've also given a sneak peak of some of the gorgeous new stamps that will be in the Autumn mini cat, so exciting!!! I've also used Chocolate Chip CS & Grosgrain ribbon, TwT CS & 'sprinkles' & rhinestones that are non-SU. I used markers to colour some parts of the right hand image. It took a while but I got there in the end.

Is anyone out there in the blogosphere going to Convention? I'd love to hear from you if you're going. I'm so excited about it. They are bringing in a new rostering system at work so I even took a week of annual leave to ensure that I would have the time off, yippee! Hopefully I'll see some of you down there :-)

Thanks Chantelle, for hosting this week.

Cheers,

Sweet Keesh

Hi There,
Hope you're all doing great.
I have combined two challenges this week. Makeesha had a colour challenge which always leave me rather stumped.

I thought of using my new 'Razzle Dazzle' stamp but didn't know what to do for a layout. I checked out Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch and it all came together.

Here is my card:

I used Ruby Red DSP from the 'Sweet Slumber' pack and the Brocade Blue came from the hostess gift pack (don't you love free paper?). I inked up my Razzle dazzle stamp with my markers and stamped it onto Very Vanilla CS. I took some more of the Ruby Red DSP and punched out a strip using the Eyelet Border punch & then ran it through my crimper. I then pinched the edge up to make the frilly circle. I've seen this on a few cards on various blogs & have been wanting to have a go. Finally I added some ribbon to a little paper clip from the cute Clip Assortment pack. The ribbon is Taffeta Ribbon. It is meant to be Riding Hood Red but it seems to go just as well with Ruby Red.

When I first saw this stamp set there was no way that I was going to buy it, didn't really like it. But after seeing so many people make such great cards with it, I had to buy it. So much for my New Year's resolution of not spending too much money this year. (I did get some great free stamps though, from the Sale-a-bration catty. Every cloud...).

Thanks for visiting, have a great rest of the week,

Cheers,

Another go at Keesh's Challenge, with a Sweet touch.

Hi,
I've had another go at Keesh's challenge (see previous post) only this time I've combined it with Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch challenge. I need a sketch to get me going at the moment.

Here's my card:

I also took inspiration from this card on Andrea Lowcock's blog, Enchantink. The 'Fresh Cuts' stamp set was one I 'just had to have' but have hardly used. I must ban myself from buying any new sets and use the ones I own more often. I used the emboss resist technique, clear embossing the stamped image and the sponging over the top using inks in 'So Saffron', 'Regal Rose' & 'Real Red', of course. I then wiped over the image to remove the ink from the embossing, revealing the image. I've used the So Saffron DSP from the 'Washington Apple' pack, and the 'Regal Rose' print from the 'Sweet Always' DSP pack. The sentiment is from 'Short and Sweet' and cut out using the Word Window' punch. I do love a punch. Once again, I've added some of the new free 'So Saffron' ribbon (see here on how to receive it). In all, this is not really any of my ideas, just a collaboration of other people's inspiration. Anyway that's all from me.

Must go & get ready for work,
Have a good night,
Cheers,
Fi xox
