Another go at Keesh's Colour Challenge

Hi again,
I had to make a card for a male friend's birthday & was wondering if I could make the gift stamp from the SAB set 'Happy Moments' look a bit blokey. I searched through Splitcoast & found this card. I figured with a change of colour (thanks to Keesh that took no thought) it would make a good birthday card.

I bought a 'Cuttlebug' embossing folder a while back that looks like metal plate, so used that on the Brocade Blue & Mellow Moss CS instead of the dots, and used B.B. DSP from the hostess gift pack again. I added a Jumbo Eyelet as they always give a blokey feel. I coloured the image with my markers and stamped a sentiment from the set 'On Your Birthday'. I'm not sure if it is really blokey but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

After all this though, I'm thinking I might make a different card for my mate as he loves music & plays in the church band, & I have a great (non-SU) guitar stamp. Oh well, back to the drawing board...

Cheers,

Sweet Keesh

Hi There,
Hope you're all doing great.
I have combined two challenges this week. Makeesha had a colour challenge which always leave me rather stumped.

I thought of using my new 'Razzle Dazzle' stamp but didn't know what to do for a layout. I checked out Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch and it all came together.

Here is my card:

I used Ruby Red DSP from the 'Sweet Slumber' pack and the Brocade Blue came from the hostess gift pack (don't you love free paper?). I inked up my Razzle dazzle stamp with my markers and stamped it onto Very Vanilla CS. I took some more of the Ruby Red DSP and punched out a strip using the Eyelet Border punch & then ran it through my crimper. I then pinched the edge up to make the frilly circle. I've seen this on a few cards on various blogs & have been wanting to have a go. Finally I added some ribbon to a little paper clip from the cute Clip Assortment pack. The ribbon is Taffeta Ribbon. It is meant to be Riding Hood Red but it seems to go just as well with Ruby Red.

When I first saw this stamp set there was no way that I was going to buy it, didn't really like it. But after seeing so many people make such great cards with it, I had to buy it. So much for my New Year's resolution of not spending too much money this year. (I did get some great free stamps though, from the Sale-a-bration catty. Every cloud...).

Thanks for visiting, have a great rest of the week,

Cheers,

Keesh's Sketch Challenge #18

A real quick post as have to get ready for work (again, it so gets in the way of stamping!!!). I liked this latest sketch challenge from Keesh, though it was more involved than it first appeared.

I decided to use one of the new stamps from the Sale-a-bration sets, 'Happy Moments'. They are gorgeous sets this year, click on the brochure link on the right side to view them all. I saved up all the product I needed to buy so I could get them all (yes, very naughty to spend so much in one go!). I used the bird cage stamp, inked with my markers, and the Bella Bleu papers. I had seen this combo used on Teneale's blog & really liked it. I think it looks very French, & I adore all things French.

Thanks for visiting. I really must run,
Cheers,

Keesh's Inspirations #17

Hi there,
Its challenge time again. I now wish I'd made a masculine card as just realised my mate's birthday get together is this Sunday at lunch time & I'm working up until Sunday morning. Duh!

Keesh's latest challenge is an Inspiration pic:

I really had no clue what to do with this one. Thought of using the wine glasses from 'Cheers to You" but then didn't know what else to do. Then the branch & orangey stripe caught my eye. Looked through stamp sets with branchy themes & came upon "Cheep Talk". The rest is a result of just playing around. It is a very simple card. The bottom 'weathered' panel is inspired by the table.

Anyway, here it is:

I should be in bed so will have to came back & add the details later.

TFL,

Cherrs,
