Sweet gumballs & jellybeans...

Hi again,
One of my good friends & workmates asked for some cards using the Gumball machine stamp (Something Sweet set) but for girls. I saw this card by Sam on Splitcoast & knew it was the one.

It is a very 'sweet' card as I've used the 'Sweet Treat Cups', 'Something Sweet' stamp set & 'Sweet Always' DSP. I was happy with how the cards came out (I made 2 the same). Cutting the circles out of so many layers & lining them up was the biggest challenge. After trying several ideas I settled on using my Big Shot (you'll love it when we can buy it here from SU!!!) which worked a treat (should I say a 'Sweet Treat', no, not funny? Sorry..). I loved how Sam used Crystal Effects on the jelly beans to make them shiny & a little 3D. I hope Trac likes them, and more than that, I hope the little girls are excited to receive them.

Have a great day,
cheers,
Fi xox

Sweet Baby

Wow, 2 posts in 2 days. Don't get too used to it LOL.

My gorgeous friend Pete had her 3rd beautiful boy (well, I assume he is beautiful, I'm still waiting on some pics LOL) just before Christmas. I have been so slack. I bought her a gift the week he was born but only just sent it. I only made his card yesterday. I was inspired by two different cards when thinking of what to do. This one by Tracey Old & these ones on Splitcoast.

I had some little sew on baby blocks & nappy pins so incorporated them with some of SU's chunky glitter to fill the cup (try not to get the glitter stuck to the edge of the sweet treat cup, as i did) . I've seen the glitter used in the 'Sweet Treat Cups' on several blogs and it looks quite effective. The stamp set is 'Something Sweet' and is more versatile than I first thought, isn't it funny how you can be not-so-keen on something til you see it used elsewhere. I paper-pierced the bottom right corner of the central piece but didn't feel that it stood out so I added the hearts. I really like them. I must get a larger paper-piercer. I wish SU would make their's available separately to the tool kit.

Anyway, I hope Pete likes it (and that I get to see some pics before he starts school, hehe).

Thanks for popping by,
Fi xox

CASEing Marelle's Gumball Card

Hi Guys,

Another quick post. I went to my cousin's son's (hi Zachary) 5th birthday dinner the other night & after seeing this card by Marelle (its the 3rd card down, amazing!!!) I couldn't rest til I'd had a go at making one for Zach. I had to quickly make it before work so it is not as good as I would've liked, and next time I would use brighter colours. However Marelle's idea of placing a sliding panel behind the cup so the treats could be accessed is pure genius! Zach was suitably impressed and my workmates all want me to make them for their kid's b'days next year. Looks like I better stock up on those cups, LOL.

Here's a pic of the inside. The hole where the lollies come out is shown on the left & I liked Marelle's idea of putting a pic behind the cup (when the card is closed) so there is something to look at when the lollies are gone. One work mate liked it so much I raced home & made one before I went to bed the next morning so she could have it for her Grandson's b'day the following day.

Must go & get ready for work again. it does get in the way of my crafting LOL. Must take a pic of the earring I made, they have been selling like hotcakes at work!

Have a great weekend,
Love Fi xox
